The Melbourne City School will develop curriculum that is relevant to the 21st century. It will be challenging and creative at the same time as exceeding the standards being set by National and State Governments. It will incorporate the Victorian Essential Learning Standards into its curriculum framework and will offer the broad opportunities of the Victorian Certificate of Education to the senior years (Years 10-12).
Mandarin Chinese will be the second language, emphasising the key relationship between Australia and China now and in the future. Other key elements will be the core enabling skills of literacy, numeracy, learning how to be a learner, personal ownership and management and emotional intelligence. The Melbourne City School will advance the enabling skills well beyond the traditional and government standards.
